Giving back to your Alma mater is something that should be trending in our country today as it is one of the fastest and most reliable ways to developing/stabilizing an entire nation. One can imagine how Nigeria would be if every single citizen holds her alma mater so dear to heart. It was a moment of fulfilment, joy, sweet memories and laughter at the government secondary school Bwari, Kuduru Multi-purpose hall yesterday the 8th day of December 2018 as the Government Secondary School Bwari Old Students Association (GSSBOSA) officially launched her National body. The event which was hosted by Dr. Mrs. Favour Ndem-Nse (Principal GSS Bwari), brought together noble men and women that have passed through the school either as Administrators, Facilitators or Students with the common goal of promoting the welfare and effectiveness of GSS Bwari through: strengthening of ties between former students and the school, stimulating the interests and activity of the alumni of the school, preserving and furthering the mission/vision of the school.
The event which had in attendance great men and women of the school kicked off at exactly 10:00am with arrival of guests/registration of members of the association and was immediately followed by singing the country’s national anthem, opening prayers and introduction of dignitaries. A brief and exciting welcome remark was delivered by the chief host Dr. Mrs Favour Ndem-Nse and a special remark by Mr. Andrew Irekpolo (pioneer principal GSS Bwari). The event was well attended and had on record the pioneer Principal of the school: Mr. Andrew Irekpolo, pioneer head girl: Mrs. Edna, Alhaji Umar Sanda: Famous Principal that year, Alhaji Nuhu Tanko, Alhaji Adamu Baba, Yahaya Salihu, Mr Eminike: Famous Commerce Teacher that year, Mr William: famous English Teacher/press club master that year, other teachers present and a good number of old students who are highly placed at various sectors of the country keeping up with the good that the great GSS Bwari embed in them.
There was much excitement in the air as the National Body of Government Secondary School Bwari Old Students Association (BOSA) was unveiled by all the former Principals present. Award of recognition was presented to the awardees and a couple of goodwill messages was delivered by some selected guests. As every heart-warming occasion always has a beautiful cake present. All the formal school administrators present were invited to cut the beautifully made cake adorned with red, black, white and first official GSSBOSA Reunion.
The event could not have been complete without comments from Ex-students of the school, response by chairman of the Adhoc Committee and vote of thanks by the committee’s secretary. Official Reunion/Launching of the National Body of the Government Secondary School Bwari Old Students Association December, 2018 came to an end with merriments, felicitations, selfies and group photographs from the various sets fully represented. Long Live BOSA!!! Long Live Nigeria!!!
